Relax. TLC has the perfect maintenance program for your property!

Whether you are looking for a year round total maintenance program, an eight month growing season package, or a high end snow management contractor, Total Lawn Care has the option that is right for you.

Turf Maintenance

Total Lawn Care uses SCAG commercial lawn mowers. These are the leading mowers in the turf industry. A crew of three or four will be present each time the lawn is mowed. The foreman of the crew will inspect the property after each cut to insure no part of our responsibilities was left undone. This process will insure your total satisfaction. The following is the list of responsibilities that will be used for each mowing.

  1. All paper, trash, branches, and other debris will be collected prior to mowing the property. The debris will be discarded off site.

  2. The turf will be maintained at a height of 2” to 3” as conditions dictate. The mowing will be scheduled so that no more than 1/3 of the grass blade is removed during any one cutting.

  3. It is the policy of Total Lawn Care to never leave a job site until a professional appearance is obtained. We will take whatever means necessary to accomplish this goal. Alternate cutting patterns are necessary to obtain a professional appearance. If excess clippings are present after the mowing the lawn will either be bagged by the lawn mower or double cut. The weather conditions will have to be extreme to put us in that situation. The clippings will be discarded off site.

  4. Total Lawn Care rotates lawnmower blades at the end of each day as part of our normal maintenance routine.

  5. String trimming around trees, mulch beds, or any other fixed object adjacent to the turf will be carefully preformed each week. Also, the turf adjacent to the asphalt drives or parking areas will be edged as part of our weekly trimming routine. Any garbage laying in any location on the property will be picked up and discarded.

  6. The entire property will be power blown to remove any debris from the weekly mowing.

Fertilizer Applications

Total Lawn Care will tailor the fertilizer program to meet your needs. By using a combination of these six applications, TLC can create the perfect program for your property.

  1. EARLY SPRING APPLICATION: Crabgrass pre-emergent with a turf building fertilizer to replenish nutrients from winter stress.

  2. LATE SPRING APPLICATION: Broadleaf weed control with a turf building fertilizer to help control emerging weeds as well as provide nutrients to insure a health and vigorous lawn.

  3. EARLY SUMMER APPLICATION: Slow release granular turf builder will be applied to help enhance a deep green color, help control annual weeds, and make the lawn more tolerant to heat stress.

  4. SUMMER APPLICATION: Slow release granular turf builder will be applied to maintain thickness and a deep color.

  5. EARLY FALL APPLICATION: Broadleaf weed control with a blend of nutrients to help strengthen the turfs root structure after a long summer.

  6. LATE FALL APPLICATION: Winterizing fertilizer designed to stimulate root development and provide an early spring greenup.

All applications from Total Lawn CAre are regulated and licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and Consumer Trade. If any specific information is desired on any of the products we use, please call TLC at  262-525-6282.

Hedge Trimming

Total Lawn Care will trim the bushes as necessary during the season. Most of the bushes will be individually trimmed two times while a few will only be trimmed once during the season. A crew of three or four laborers as well as a foreman will be sent to complete the job. The foreman will inspect the work upon completion to insure all of the necessary responsibilities were carried out. The responsibilities as well as the schedule are outlined below.

  • The bushes will be trimmed as necessary to maintain a neat appearance.

  • The bushes will individually evaluated and trimmed back to the appropriate and uniform size at the proper time of year.

  • If Total Lawn Care has to allow for more than one day to trim the entire property then each day after the work is completed the premises will be cleaned up so as to leave a neat appearance.

  • After the bushes have been trimmed the debris will be collected from around the bushes and the mulch beds will be cleaned.

  • All debris from the bush trimming will be discarded off site.

  •  *TLC is trained and licensed to apply insecticides as well as pesticides to bushes and trees if it becomes necessary.

Policies and Procedures

Total Lawn Care uses dry organic fertilizer whenever possible. However, the only way to obtain 100% weed control is to use liquid.

There are other options utilizing Integrated Pest Management that can be discussed if concerns arise. All applicators at Total Lawn Care are regulated and licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and Consumer Trade.

All applicators have been thoroughly trained to apply them properly. If additional information is desired on any of the products we use please call Total Lawn Care at 262-525-6282.

Some other common uses are weed suppression, erosion control, and moisture retention.  Whatever your reason for mulch, Total Lawn Care has the solution for your property. Our experienced crew can install bark mulch quickly and efficiently.  TLC has the manpower and equipment to do jobs as large 100-yard jobs.

Snow Management

When "Old Man Winter" hits, Total Lawn Care is there to help.

  • Plowing is bid per 24 hour snowstorm.

  • Any snow that accumulates to over 1” will be plowed.

  • Areas to be plowed include: private roads, parking lots, loading docks, and garbage dumpsters (these areas will be plowed as necessary during storm).

  • Any snow under 1” will be removed via the appropriate control method.
Ice control on the parking lot will consist of a high traction rock salt.
Ice control on entrance walks will consist of “Professional Ice Melter TM” to minimize problems resulting from dragging residue into the building. “Professional Ice Melter TM" melts ice and snow to –15 F; it has no harmful residue to ruin building interiors; and also helps to resist refreezing. This service will be done per request.

  • Access to the lot will be cleared before (5:00 a.m.) as well as periodically through the snowstorm as necessary to sufficiently assure the safety of the tenants and customers.

  • All open parking spaces will be plowed at the time of the initial plowing.

  • The lot will be visited several times during the day to clear any remaining spots.

  • Any drifting resulting from wind other than during a snowstorm will be closely monitored.

  • During a daytime snowstorm the main lot runways may be cleared several times as necessary.

  • Stacking and moving of the snow piles on site will be done in a reasonable time after the storm ends.

  • Shoveling will be done as necessary during the storm.
